IEC 60529 ingress protection (IP) testing
The IP code — how well an enclosure keeps out dust and water. The 'IP65' or 'IP67' on a datasheet comes from this test.

IEC 60529
Degrees of protection provided by enclosures: the first digit for solid objects and dust (IP5X, IP6X), the second for water (IPX1 to IPX9).
IP code testing with dust chambers, drip, spray, jet and immersion rigs — including IP66/IP67/IP68 for outdoor and naval enclosures, and IPX9 high-pressure/high-temperature jets.
Typical products. Enclosures, outdoor electronics, connectors, lighting, inverters, naval and vehicle equipment.
